Harare Theological College is pleased to announce that we will be offering courses during the school breaks. Anyone who wants to complete a Foundational Certificate in Biblical Studies can now sign-up for week-long intensive courses over the April, August and December holidays.
Here is the schedule for 2018:
|April||April 9-13||OT Survey||Mr S Magwiro & Mr C Ashby|
|April 16-20||NT Survey||Mr I Amess|
|August||August 6-10||Hermeneutics 1||Mr S Magwiro|
|August 15-21||Hermeneutics 2||Mr M Ricquebourg|
|December||December 3-7||Intro to Theology||Dr D Rousseau|
Students will need to enrol in these courses a month before the class starts. This will allow students to complete the prerequisite reading for the course and prepare for class. Enrolment dates are as follows:
|Holiday Period||Enrolment Deadline||Courses||Classes begin||Classes end|
|April||Friday 16 March||OT Survey||April 9||April 13|
|NT Survey||April 16||April 20|
|August||Friday 6 July||Hermeneutics 1||August 6||August 10|
|Hermeneutics 2||August 15||August 21|
|December||Friday 2 November||Intro to Theology||December 3||December 7|
This means that students will be able to complete more courses in a year if they choose to do so. Moreover, HTC realises that there may be pastors from churches who may want to come for refresher courses, or teachers who may want to study for their own interest or as part of their professional development, or even students from schools and universities who may want to use their holiday time constructively. Hopefully our inter-term programme can help meet your needs, as we strive to make theological education more accessible to Christians living in Zimbabwe.
Cost per course: $110 (includes tuition & class handouts, but NOT course notebooks and lunches)
HTC will provide students with internet onsite and access to our computer lab, although a basic competency in computers will be required.
Please note that the lectures are taking place in the MORNINGS and EARLY AFTERNOONS for ONE WEEK per course. Starting times will be set by each lecturer, but will probably be from 8.00 or 8.30 – 13.00 and 14.00-15.00 from Mondays to Thursdays, with the final exam being on Friday morning or early afternoon (1 hour).
Students are required to do some prerequisite reading before classes commence, and there will be assignments to be handed in (some of these after the course has finished, for the student to hand in at the end of the holiday period).
Closing date for the April holidays will be Friday 16 March 2018. Once students have enrolled and paid the deposit they will be given the course code which will enable them to access materials posted by the lecturer online.
